STEP 5: MIRRORS (WBT)

Hello super teachers!

Welcome to a new week full of WBT! I really hope you find it useful!

Today’s post is going to be about one of my favourite games in this methodology; MIRRORS! Let’s see how to play!

When the teacher says MIRRORS, all students in the class have to repeat this word and pick up their hands ready to mirror the teacher’s gestures. When you make your students repeat all your gestures and words, they are working their visual motor cortex.

As I said before, WBT is a very good methodology to activate all the brain parts. In this case, your students are going to concentrate their attention in mirroring your gestures and words.

There are some variations:

1.MIRRORS

This is the most simple game. Students have to repeat every gesture you do. It is good to use it when you want to catch their attention.

2. MIRRORS AND WORDS

When you want to teach them something more complicated, is it good to use MIRRORS AND WORDS. As you will probably know, movements are better to remember long sentences. Memorizing long texts is such a difficult task, but if you add some gestures, your students are going to learn it faster.

3. MIRRORS / TEACH! OKEY!

Finally, make them teach what you said to their partners by using the TEACH OKAY methodology.
