WHAT’S YOUR SUPERPOWER?

superhero!Today I would like to show you a very special story about a boy called Eliot Jones.  Eliot is a brilliant character who has superpowers.

He helps the world by doing many things to solve people’s problems. He appears to be a specialist in every single thing he has to do.

Eliot is a lovely character that focus all his energy to help the others.

1. ELIOT JONES!

As I said before, Eliot is a wonderful character, and students would be happy to work on it. In order to help them, I’ve designed some worksheets to make the description task easier. It is important to give them some support ( grammar, structures, vocabulary…) and give them tools to progress.

You will see that the story has a very rich vocabulary. There are many interesting verbs to work such as: hang, leap, lead, dive, sneak… ( YOU CAN SEE THE WORKSHEETS IN THE FOLLOWING LINK)

2. HOW TO CREATE A SUPERHERO

An interesting task to carry out is the creation of a superhero.

To do it your students must follow the rules:

– Name

– Costume

– Secret Identity

– Superpower

After that, it would be nice to present them in front of the class.

3. SUPERHEROES SONGS

I haven’t found many songs to use in order to work superheroes… But these two are good, if you have older students!

SCRIPT- Superheroes

MARVEL- I just wanna be a superhero

4. DO SUPERHEROES EXIST?

This is one of my favourite parts when finishing a story, and it’s to make students reflect and think about the moral of it. If you want to go deeper, I would recomend you to ask them how a real superhero must be. Or if they can name a person who has done something awasome…

You can create a project where children have to search information about a real superhero. Because everyone can be a superhero, if they do something special, awasome and brilliant. The main aim of them is help and protect people, so that, we can find millions of superheroes around the world.

5. ELIOT WENT TO…

DSC_0102In one of his adventures, Eliot went to Tibet.

I think that working some geography would be nice. You can show them where it is by using Google Maps.

6. SUPERHERO CRAFTS

Here I show you some crafts to create a superhero costume! You can do a shield from a paper/plastic plate. Then you can use TP rolls to do the superhero cuffs, and finally, use two plastic bottles and paint them to complete the costume!

Captain America Paper Plate Shield - Crafts on Sea                         Make super hero cuffs from an empty paper roll < How cute would this be for the Courageous & Strong petal!?

The kids got these at a VBS this summer...great little accessory. I wonder how hard it is to make a bunch for all the party attendees?
